And while everyone looks at the various kitchen designs, many forget to take a good look at the sink that they select. This is a grave mistake, which people only realize when they've spent far too long in the kitchen of their dreams, and then it's too late to spend a bunch of money on a new one.

To save you from the mistakes we have listed here 6 tips on how you should consider getting a sink for your kitchen.

Modular Kitchens in Kochi
The first consideration while buying your kitchen sink should be for the one who’d be using it. It’s their convenience that you should be first and foremost concerned with. The height at which you’d have to install the sink, and the depth that it should have - it would have to be such, that it readily accommodates the person using it. You’d have to make sure that using the sink on a regular basis, for long periods of time, and every day, doesn’t come out to be strenuous for whoever uses it the most.

There are different depths for different sinks. How shallow or deep you would like it to be, would certainly depend upon every individual's height. Especially, if you have multiple people who cook and work in the kitchen daily, then the depth of the sink would be calculated according to whatever average of different heights comes out to be.

A general thumb rule states, that for people with height 5feet 5inches or lower, would do ideally well with sinks as deep as 8 inches. With the right depth and height, one can expect lesser lower back pain, and also one reason less for not having washed the utensils on time!

Talking of depth, what if you’re a tad bit taller? Sinks with a depth of 10 inches work fine too in that case. Then you don’t to slump too much, therefore making you less susceptible for upper back pain, and your posture won’t get badly affected either.

Having a deeper sink also means you can have more space for the utensils while you wash them. That means, you don’t have to use up any extra space on your counter-top in order to keep the dirty utensils. You can directly put the in the sink, and after having cleaned them, put them on the drying rack.

What about the drain? You have to make sure that it doesn’t get blocked when your pile your utensils in the sink. Or it would take another extra minutes for you to clean it all over. Instead, go for the ceramic and metal sinks that are available these days, which have drains placed at the back rather than in the center. The drainage gets much easier with this arrangement.

Selecting a sink is an important task; not really that easy, but an interesting one, nonetheless. With a host of modular kitchens Kochi, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, and other major cities popping up, you have a variety of sink designs that you can choose from. This is a necessary accessory to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in your kitchen, and so you should be choosing carefully.
